Flickering and unintentional cursor jumps on Dell XPS 15 9570 when using built-in keyboard (not a rant)

Dear Emacs community, I’m happy user of Dell XPS 15 on PopOS as an operating system (Gnome X11 with Nvidia support ISO variant). Since I got this laptop, I started using Emacs (best decision of my life in terms of tooling). First it was Spacemacs then Emacs Doom and finally I have hand crafted my own configuration (never been so proud and satisfied with Emacs as I’m now). I was also using different versions of Emacs: 27, 28 and recent master with pgtk enabled then disabled. I was also experimenting with different Linux + GNU operating systems, but whatever I try I’m unable to get rid of Emacs flickering, cursor jumps and buffer/windows switching when using Dell’s built-in keyboard (using external keyboard solves the issue). It sometimes looks like Emacs would undo and redo buffer switch/window switch multiple times or randomly remove/insert the text I just wrote. :O I can also reproduce this behavior in plain Emacs (`emacs -Q`). I’m not having this issue with applications other than Emacs, so it’s rather isolated case. Have you ever experienced anything like that? Your help is most welcome. Cheers! Emacs Forever!!

That sounds like some kind of hardware or driver issue. I'd try running `xev`or `xinput test ...` (with the appropriate device number) to see if there are any unexpected input events being generated. `libinput debug-events` is yet another way.

Is it possible you are accidentally brushing against the touchpad? I know you say it doesn't happen in other applications but perhaps your hands are moving differently because of the emacs chord system.
