I've released version 0.2 of Burly, which includes several improvements that have been on the master branch for a while, and it requires Emacs 27.1 or later. It can be installed from MELPA Stable, or directly from the git tag.
The master branch now also has `burly-tabs-mode`, which integrates with Emacs's `tab-bar-mode`, and it requires Emacs 28.1 or later (which version 0.3 of Burly will require). It can be installed from MELPA, or directly from git master.
From the readme:
> Burly supports Emacs’s `tab-bar-mode` with `burly-tabs-mode`. When active, Burly bookmarks are opened in new tabs, and the tabs are named according to the bookmarks. Reopening a Burly bookmark uses the designated tab, if it already exists, and tabs may be reset to their bookmarked state with the command `burly-reset-tab` (which you might bind to `C-x t R`).
So by using `tab-bar-mode` and `burly-tabs-mode`, Burly offers a kind of "workspace manager," especially helpful for working with multiple projects, sets of buffers, and IDE-like window configurations.
As always, feedback is appreciated.

Epic! I've been very frustrated looking at all the state management solutions in emacs, so many ignore the \*mandatory\* tab-bar mode. Just been using desktop-save-mode but this should be a lot more flexible.

very interesting - sounds like desktop-save for windows/frames and locations therein with better/smarter restoring of those and sans the desktop-globals-to-save stuff for restoring rings and various other pieces of state…accurate or am i thinking about it wrong?

Yes, that's the idea. `desktop-mode` does a lot, maybe too much, and yet it doesn't seem to offer enough control to the user. Burly saves and restores buffers, windows, and frames on-demand, and in a flexible way.

That's the idea! :) Let me know if you have any feedback.
