Is installing emacs the problem or is installing doom the problem? They are two different things

Once you have emacs installed it should be as simple as dropping the doom config files within your emacs config directory. Try starting emacs ignoring the doom config files. I believe it is `emacs -q` off the top of my head but you better double check. From there you can see what’s going wrong with doom specifically

Wait a sec... Windows cant run doom anymore !?
straynrg · 2022-06-28 06:58
My advice would be to use WSL2 and Vcxsrv. I installed arch in WSL2 and run doom emacs daily for work.

Typical Microsoft. Now their OS doesn't even come with a screenshot tool anymore.

You're missing libjitgcc in your path, which is the just in time compiler which lets you natively compile emacs lisp code, which probably means that the binary you installed has been compiled to expect to natively compile emacs lisp code.
Pretty sure if you're having this problem, you aren't compiling emacs from source, since native compilation is something you would deal during the configuration step and you wouldn't be running doom install.
Doom install compiles packages on load, which is where it's going wrong I think. Find a binary that isn't compiled for the use of native compilation support and work from there - though maybe doom install is looking for it too? He's usually pretty aware of this stuff though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it checks for the flag before running it.
"scoop install emacs installs a doom compatible emacs28.1 which should work out of the box with all the attached dlls direct from the emacs ftp server.
However you'll find performance is much lower on Windows than Linux, so my actual recommendation if you have admin rights or can get someone to play around with your firewall settings is to use WSL2 and install emacs natively.
Hope that helps.

It tries to use mingw to natively compile files, but it doesnt exist. Maybe try `choco install mingw` or have a look at [https://www.mingw-w64.org/](https://www.mingw-w64.org/)
