I fear you may be confusing "eMac" , the ca.2004 Apple educational computer with "emacs", the text editor. This sub is about the latter.

Been hesitant about that, for the posts don’t seem centered on the nostalgia I’m coming from haha. Worth a try, would anyone possibly know of a better place to look?

Yeah - if you had searched for emac, you would have found the reddits r/VintageApple and r/VintageAppleHardware You also posted a giant paragraph with no breaks that makes it really hard to read.

This has been removed, as posts must relate to "emacs", the multi-purpose editor, not the "eMac", an old Apple computer.

So don’t read it? Communication is a fantastic tool. I did search eMac hence why I am here -several times in fact- did not find those subreddits (that happen to not include the word I was searching) But thanks that’s all I needed, just someone to suggest search terms that better apply & consider.

Yeah sorry I edited out the part where I let myself get frustrated and said “do you not know how to read” I felt in the same vein I’m being talked to as “do you not know how to search?”

Ok. I was probably a little curt, too. I actually bought a used Emac when Tiger came out to try and switch to Macs. Unfortunately, I gave up because of the PowerPC chip and then really switched when Apple went to Intel. And, just to come full circle, I probably ran emacs on an Emac 😄

All good! Ultimately it’s silly to let something like downvotes bother me. Thank you again for helping me find a better place for discussion. The eMac experience sticks out, especially the decline in update operability with the chip & all. Interesting to know an editing program that was used then persists on! Don’t know anything about the sort, but have been looking into the small mod community for iOS 8-10 games and wonder if it applies.
