So my Emacs just turned off.

So my Emacs crashed, i use exwm so i got to the display manager(in my case ly). I wondered why. So i started exwm again and I had a black screen. I couldn't do anything. I can start another wm/de and i edited my config to where i know it worked, but it just won't start. Someone who knows what happened and how i can fix it?

Some general suggestions: - Hit Ctrl+Alt+F2 to bring up a Linux virtual terminal, log in, run `startx -- :2` and see if it behaves differently. - After doing that, check`~/.xsession-errors` for anything that looks unusual. - Also check the X server log, it should be printed to the console when you run `startx -- :2`. - Replace your `.xsessionrc` (or whatever starts Emacs/EXWM) with nothing other than `exec xterm`. Then `startx -- :2` should get you an X session with xterm and nothing else (not even a window manager). Invoke the same shell command in the xterm as you use to start Emacs/EXWM in your `.xsessionrc` and see if you can see anything that looks wrong.

This won't help you now, but for the future: Put your config file(s) in version control so that you can easily recover from disaster.

I have.thats not why it won't start. I can run Emacs in another window manager but not run it with just my display manager.

I have come to accept that exwm randomly crashes about once a month, even without me touching the config files. Judging from days and days of internet searches, I will probably never find out why. I love exwm enough to stick with it regardless, but it is definitely not a production-level piece of software.

Same here. But now I can't even start it. And i dunno if it's Emacs or xorg but there's nothing in the xorg logs, nothing, it says it connected all the devices but it don't start Emacs.

I haven't upgraded the kernel but yeah i installed the Nvidia drivers.
