What Performance enhancements for lsp-mode could you recommend without sacrificing user experience?

Did you see [the original guidelines ](https://emacs-lsp.github.io/lsp-mode/page/performance/)?
kigas2 · 2022-06-26 11:03
I did. I was just wondering if people had some more nichue hacks for that
holgerschurig · 2022-06-26 11:36
Tongue in cheek: substituting lsp-mode with eglot :-)

I use lsp-mode for number of languages and platforms and have zero performance complaints.
Without proper context your question is waste of time.

I move my project into ram disk, see http://blog.binchen.org/posts/emacs-speed-up-1000.html

lsp-mode is more optimized and faster even with more features on.

check out the Doom Emacs module for LSP. If there are any, they will be there. I personally recommend LSP_USE_PLISTS also (LSP documentation).

Just make sure you do not include huge folders, like $HOME for example. It was an issue for me once. I use Emacs 28.1 with native-comp, libjson and with plists
FluentFelicity · 2022-06-28 00:10
This is the only one of the performance recommendations I don't use since it seemed the most cumbersome to do.
Does it actually have a noticeable impact from your experience?
FluentFelicity · 2022-06-28 00:10
Is it really? Are there benchmarks somewhere I can view?
LemonBreezes · 2022-06-28 00:32
I think it reduced the amount of stuttering on my work PC. It also made it easier tor me to debug LSP since plists are more print-friendly.
kigas2 · 2022-06-28 19:15
What do you mean by include?
cradlemann · 2022-06-28 19:33
Sometimes if you open files outside git repos in your home directory and lsp ask you to import project and set your $HOME folder as project root if you confirm it
kigas2 · 2022-06-29 09:14
Understood, thank you!
