Does use-package have a method for including files directly from the repository?

vfclists · 2022-06-20 00:18
UPDATE: The title should have been **Does use-package have a _built-in_ method for including files directly from the repository?** I thought it did, but the documentation doesn't show anything like that. I may have confused with [straight](https://github.com/radian-software/straight.el) or [el-get](https://github.com/dimitri/el-get) and their `use-package` integrations.

Use-package can use straight to get the package and then apply the other use-package goodness. Irc its.. (use-package :straight <url> …..)

I've used something like this when I needed to also load vertico extensions: (use-package vertico :straight (:files (:defaults "extensions/*"))))

There seem to be some downvote happy folks here. `quelpa` was one of the things I had in mind, when I asked the question. The title should have been "**Does use-package have a *built-in* method for including files directly from the repository?**, but reddit's policy on not changing the title bit.

By default, use-package uses package.el, so it doesn't. See https://github.com/jwiegley/use-package#package-installation
