ooo, I was looking for a notification system that works entirely within Emacs. I will check this out more later.

>hence the website named after a Vim command
I'm the opposite: Emacs first, learned to love Vi(m) bindings after Spacemacs made it easy to use a complete Evil config.
Just a curiosity: is :wq really one command? Or is it 2? Are w and q interpreted independently, or is there a unique ex command wq? I am curious to deepen my understanding (admittedly without studying the depths of vi(m) myself, selfish!)
Anyway I love that someone so committed to Vim has come over to the Evil side!
Now I will actually go read this awesome post!!

From my Vim days, it's two separate commands:
* ``w`` writes to the disk
* ``q`` exits vim
Edit: This is wrong.

`:w` and `:q` are different from the Ex command `:wq`, which is a single command.

Ah, TIL!

Guix System + EXWM + Emacs = My Emacs Operating System

There's a lot of really nice bits in your config files. Thanks for sharing!

Love it

I would suggest Lee consider adding the [GNU Hyperbole package](https://www.gnu.org/s/hyperbole) to your package list as well (if you are willing to try it) as it adds a lot of useful out-of-the-box functionality beyond what Org and other packages provide.

I have a general question to users of niche linux systems - are they for hobby or can you get to work with them at work?
Nullzeiger · 2022-06-20 03:54
It is a system that I use as a hobby, for work I necessarily use Ubuntu, but Guix System improves with each version, if you do not have particular needs with proprietary drivers or software it's fine. I use it a lot while programming in C with the latest versions of Emacs 28.1 and GCC 12.1
paretoOptimalDev · 2022-06-20 12:31
I used the above for work, substituting guix for NixOS. I still use NixOS and emacs for work.

I got Gentoo working in WSL2 on my work PC so that's what I use. I don't use EXWM on that though.
My personal computer has EXWM installed.
