Org Latex template

Is the example using a particulae LaTeX class? If something like `ieeetran`, start with: ``` #+LaTeX_CLASS: ieeetran ``` at the top of your org file, then go from there.

i tried adding it but it doesnt output my email. also if i add a latex header it goes to a different page like latex header on page 1 and the title on page 2.

Why don't you post a minimal version of your .org file, just a few lines that demonstrate the problem and that we can reproduce, then you might get some help. As it is, you don't tell us the input or show the output, so it's a bit hard to help.

I made it work with [this](https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/69906/how-can-i-configure-author-for-latex-in-org-mode). Although I notice a strange behavior. If I put #+OPTIONS: email:t in my org file then the pdf just exports the email. If I remove the email:t, then everything except the email(the mailto link) is displayed.
