1. I'm trying to enable ligatures for cascadia code. I set the font in config.el, and I set :ui (ligatures +extra +fira), but no ligatures.
2. Where are the indent guides? I enables those when I was enabling ligatures, but I don't see them.
3. Why is .vue highlighted like plain text? I have :lang javascript, and I even installed [this plugin](https://github.com/AdamNiederer/vue-mode) that should've taken care of it.
4. (emoji +unicode) doesn't work either.

Some information about your system and setup would be helpful.
What OS are you using?
Terminal or GUI emacs?
Emacs version?
Maybe paste your `init.el` and `config.el` so we can take a look at it.
Or if you don't want to share your entire `config.el` just the part that configures your fonts.
You can paste it directly in a Reddit reply or use something like pastebin.

[config.el](https://pastebin.com/vTREA0kP)(felt lazy and just pasted the whole thing, sorry)
[init.el](https://pastebin.com/tJe1TcZ7)
Arch KDE, GUI, using emacs 28.1
The plugin is 3 years old so no wonder that doesn't work lol

I suggest removing the`+fira`flag.
That's the legacy way of adding ligatures to a font that doesn't have them.
Cascadia Code has ligatures and emacs 28+ will handle them natively.
I'm not sure why indent guides aren't working but maybe that will sort out when you get fonts working properly.
For .vue files try getting rid of `vue-mode` and then making sure you have this in your `init.el`:
lsp
(web +lsp)
(javascript +lsp)

For Unicode emojis make sure you have a font with good Unicode support. You can set a specific font in Doom to handle Unicode.
For example, I use the free `Noto Color Emoji` font for Unicode.
(setq doom-font (font-spec :family "Bespoke Iosevka Mono" :size 24 :weight 'regular)
doom-variable-pitch-font (font-spec :family "Overpass Nerd Font" :size 22 :weight 'medium)
doom-unicode-font (font-spec :family "Noto Color Emoji")
doom-serif-font (font-spec :family "BlexMono Nerd Font" :weight 'light))
Don't forget to `doom sync` after making these changes.

doom sync was apparently most of the problem
thank you so much man, now I can go and replace vscode with emacs

Ah shit.
Yea, that should have been my first question.
https://github.com/zerolfx/copilot.el
Haven't tried it myself and it looks very new so it might be tricky to setup.

hey quick blast from the past, when i enable :lang web, every unfinished word turns into an element. That doesn't work with copilot.el, because now I can't press tab and call myself a programmer. Do you know of any workaround?
Kefim_Wod · 2022-06-18 18:56
Yea, I don't know enough about that to help.
