Great post and blog. I use org roam and am a noob with publishing. And am trying to figure out how to setup a gitlab page that can publish all my org roam notes. Your publish snippet might be handy thanks for that.

I assume you know about the official example site: https://gitlab.com/pages/org-mode
If you don't get it to work at all, send me a message.

That's a good overview of Org export features.
_PS: You need to add `^:{}` to your `#+options` to prevent all those unintentional subscripting caused by underscores._
**Update**: Looks like you fixed it now.

Thanks!

One of the best and most productive features of org-mode getting more traction, yay!
I really dig your site's aesthetic, good job on that!

I used to have the same approach to write blog as yours. However, this would be such a pain to update the basic template, for example the homepage button. All the blog posts needed to be exported, and it kind of ruined the updated time.
I then wrote a backend rest server from scratch, and write blog posts in org-roam with post request. It eliminates a lot of the boiler plates that polluting the org source file.

Nice post! I use orgmode for my site too [drimyswinteri.ml](https://drimyswinteri.ml) , features like this should be highlighted wen discussing pros of emacs/orgmode

There are a lot of cool projects that build upon org-mode (org-export) being a static site generator like [org-webring](https://sr.ht/~brettgilio/org-webring/) (which includes the ability of making a planet-style aggregator page) and [elfeed-org](https://github.com/remyhonig/elfeed-org/) (allows you to have a blogroll thats a perfectly viable file to import to elfeed).
Unfortunately a lot of the cool sites i've seen that use this, have been personally deleted like brettgillio and ambrevar's website (the content was great why delete it?).
Ive tried a lot of SSGs and org-export and pollen are my favorite lisp based SSG, their great to hack on top of.

yeah bret's site was beautiful, and was the motivation I needed to start blogging... I still use org-webring, if you have a site rss maybe I can add you to mine :)
Legitimate-Fishing99 · 2022-06-15 03:40
How did you add RSS feed to org export?
yacaCL · 2022-06-15 05:28
Here is my [config file](https://git.sr.ht/~yaca/.dotfiles/tree/master/item/emacs/.emacs.d/blog.el#L39)
Lazarus5678 · 2022-06-15 05:48
Yeah i checked it. I created a fork and it works with the default org files that the org-mode repo comes with. But org-roam creates a different type of backlinks which fails the gitlab ci. I would be obliged if you can point me to the correct direction in publishing org-roam notes and how I would include in publish.el eventually. Pm is fine?

I’m using org-mode (together with ox-hugo) to generate [parsec.ro](https://www.parsec.ro). Working great, for almost three years.
Trio_tawern_i_tkwisz · 2022-06-15 16:24
Same: [https://zwrotniktwistera.xyz/](https://zwrotniktwistera.xyz/) :)
Kaligule · 2022-06-20 07:03
PM is fine, but honestly: I know nothing about org-roam. I am afraid I can't help you here, sorry.
Thaodan · 2022-06-20 16:58
Is there much difference compared to Pelican?
amiralul · 2022-06-22 11:26
I don't know, I've never used Pelican.
Lazarus5678 · 2022-06-24 09:36
Alright no worries
