I am looking for suggestions for some general code-formatter to use in emacs. Upon googling, I saw some discussion from a few years ago. I am wondering if you have any recommendations?

Thank you so much

I'm aware of the following:
[raxod502/apheleia](https://github.com/radian-software/apheleia)
[purcell/emacs-reformatter](https://github.com/purcell/emacs-reformatter)
[lassik/emacs-format-all-the-code](https://github.com/lassik/emacs-format-all-the-code)
There is also [an effort](https://github.com/lassik/emacs-format-all-the-code/issues/170) to merge all three which would be great.
Edit: Fix typo

You might want to check out https://github.com/jscheid/prettier.el

I’ve been using aphelia for a while now. It has configurable backends for things like prettier, so works with a lot of languages. It’s also really unobtrusive, and you get used to the format-on-the-fly nature of it really quickly. I’m using it with Elixir and TypeScript currently and it does a great job.

If your language server supports formatting, an LSP client (lsp-mode/eglot) could serve it.
