I prefer helm-joke-tell, joke-tell's interface is so clunky and old. I'm so much more productive since I installed helm-joke-tell.

joke-tell is an interactive native compiled Lisp function in ‘jokes.el’. It is bound to <menu-bar> <tools> <games> <joke-tell>. (joke-tell &optional ARG) Tell a random joke. Optional prefix argument ARG controls the tone. With positive ARG, the joke is light-hearted proportionally to the magnitude of ARG. Positive ARG jokes remain suitable for audiences of all age. With negative ARG, the joke employs dark humor, in proportion to the magnitude of ARG. With ARG less than -16, the joke may be considered offensive in most cultures on the planet. As a special case, with a zero prefix argument, the joke will be deliberately not funny. For additional control over the length of the exposition and the moment of punchline delivery, consider using 'tell-extended-joke'. Other relevant functions are documented in the jokes group. This function is obsolete since 30.1; use 'shitpost-to-buffer' instead. Probably introduced at or before Emacs version 14.1.42.
