Increase the size of the cursor

Is there a way to increase the size of the cursor in Emacs? By default it looks very small.. I'd like to make it taller if I can but I can't find any documentation nor any examples on where I should start.

The Emacs text cursor always has the size of the character on which it is displayed. The above assumes you are talking about the default block cursor, the one which looks like the character below it displayed in inverse video. Is that what you asked about?

I'm still learning emacs so I'm not sure what's default and not. I'm not sure what the difference here is. If I increase my text size the cursor hight is still that standard size I use evil mode so both the thin and thick cursor bars are small.

What do the following yield? M-: (frame-parameter nil 'cursor-type) RET M-: cursor-type RET (I don't use evil mode, so I don't know whether you need to do something to invoke `M-:`, which prompts for a Lisp expression in the minibuffer and displays its value. If `M-:` doesn't work in evil mode, maybe someone else could tell you how to invoke the command `eval-expression` to which `M-:` is bound.)

However, in INSERT mode using evil it's (Bar . 2)

Yeah so I did some playing around... and I found these ​ `(setq evil-insert-state-cursor '("#eb998b" (bar . 2)))` `(setq evil-normal-state-cursor '("#ebcb8b" box))` Basically I can set the values here but the height of the bar cursor never actually increases.. I can get a really thick bar but I cant ever get a longer(taller) bar.

Okay how do I increase the height of the default face font?

nvm.. that just makes the font bigger. I'm starting to realize that there is literally no way to increase the size of the cursor in emacs compared to say neovim. What if I increase the line height?

One way is `C-x C-+`. Another way is to hold Ctrl and rotate the mouse wheel.

Yeah I realized that I don't want to increase the height.. I guess there is no way to do what I want here.
