How do you configure your file search programs like grep, ag, ripgrep programs to display a file just once if a pattern is found in enough?

Sometimes when I search for a pattern using Emacs porcelain, I just want the file to displayed once in the results, instead of a results entry for every match. Are there options for searching this way? Can Emacs filter the duplicates in its own way or pipe the results through `uniq` or some other utility to avoid the duplicates?

I dunno about doing it through emacs, but "grep -l" (minus ell) will list files that match rather than printing all matching lines... And "grep -c" may also be of interest...
