Enabling Helm Interferes with ESS/R

I am trying to use helm, but when I enable it I am getting an error message. The full problem is described here, https://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/72018/enabling-helm-interferes-with-r-ess I don't mean to cross post between r/emacs and stackexchange, I am just not sure where the best place to ask for Emacs help is.

The backtrace is clear, \`C-RET\` is running \`helm-resume-previous-session-after-quit\`, so something is binding \`C-RET\` to this command globally. Please start from a minimal Emacs config to reproduce, if you can reproduce from there report on github to Helm.
