Ew. All the worst and jankiest features of all these, stacked up into a precarious and ugly pile of sluggish disappointment. Bet it's satisfying though

The sad thing is, it's only one step removed (missing the Vim layer) from what my day-to-day work environment looks like. It's indeed all "Ew" and not at all satisfying. I do software development for Linux platforms, and when I started out the employer gave me a corporate laptop running Windows 11. The IT department was quite clear that I'm not allowed to get rid of the Windows installation, but they do allow WSL and/or Linux VMs for us rare birds that need it, so I run a Debian VM to host the GNU toolchain and the rest of the build tools. That VM also runs Emacs, I am not quite as degenerate (yet) to run Vim from inside Emacs or Emacs from Windows. The laptop isn't *quite* beefy enough to run the Debian VM with low enough USB input latency. Sometimes USB events (like 'button released') gets delayed long enough for Emacs to figure "I guess you want to scroll faster then" (sending my cursor running off into the distance) or "I guess you meant to type eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". It's awful. Send help! 馃槶

Now open vim's built-in terminal and run terminal emacs from there.
