Thanks for writing this! I intend to try it out. grip-mode needs python. I wonder if there be better alternatives.

Great stuff. You should make it clear that you’re using the macport and not vanilla GNU Emacs 28.1. I use it too but I understand xwidgets have some issues on vanilla on Mac.

Does —with-Mac-metal flag works for you?
atomicham · 2022-05-22 04:23
This isn’t using the mac-port, but emacs-plus, which is the gnu git repo (master branch if you choose v29) with some patches applied at compilation time. [emacs-plus GitHub](https://github.com/d12frosted/homebrew-emacs-plus)

Oh, the Hugo preview is really nice. I usually open Firefox and have it and Emacs each take up half the screen, but when I do that I keep mixing up Alt-tab and switch-buffer.

No, this author uses emacs-mac. I talked with him recently about it.
atomicham · 2022-05-22 08:18
I see. Regardless, I use the emacs-plus with gnu master branch and can use webkit-xwidgets as described.

I have tried it once with this Emacs port. Sandly the brew recipe did not built with the flag. Granted this is some time ago, but I haven't tried again.

I am using this: [https://github.com/railwaycat/homebrew-emacsmacport](https://github.com/railwaycat/homebrew-emacsmacport) It is mentioned in the under the meta heading though.

Haven't found any with the ease of use so far. But since python is by default installed on my mac, I do not ming terribly. Hence me no realising this either.
hmelman · 2022-05-22 21:11
Yes, those are builds of the [Mac Port](https://bitbucket.org/mituharu/emacs-mac/src/master/README-mac), a descendent of the carbon port.

Update: You made me curious, so I had to try out the flag today. This time it did build with homebrew. Now, I have been with it all day today. I haven't run into an arror or problem so far. But I haven't seen any noticeable speed improvement either.
