org-publish: "not a regular file"

CoolioDood · 2022-05-19 19:14
## The goal I have two collections of Org files: `~/Documents/life` for my Org agenda files, and `~/Documents/org-roam` for `org-roam` files. I would like to export all org-roam files to HTML in `~/public_html`. ## What I've done so far I set up export like this: (setq org-publish-project-alist '(("org-roam" :base-directory "~/Documents/org-roam/" :base-extension "org" :publishing-directory "~/public_html/" :recursive t :publishing-function org-html-publish-to-html))) However, when I run `org-publish` and select the `org-roam` project, I get the following error in `*Messages*`: org-id-find: not a regular file: ~/Documents/life/data Does anyone have an idea of how I could fix this? `~/Documents/life/data` is the `org-attach` directory for my agenda files, but I don't want to publish this so I have no idea why it's being processed.

And as usual, I spend 2 hours on this, post a question on reddit, and solve the issue 10 minutes later. I had the `data` directory in `org-agenda-text-search-extra-files`, which wasn't supposed to be there and caused a problem. Removing that makes publish work correctly. Sorry for the noise; not deleting this post in case someone (or future me) runs into the same issue.
