I’m trying to determine what emacs plugins are the absolute best for Common Lisp (for things like intellisense and fly check).
Thanks you guys!

`sly` or `slime`. Both are awesome.

flycheck: the built-in language does this, with Slime or Sly we get compile-time error and warnings when we compile our functions or buffers.
intellisense: Slime has good fuzzy completion, but not depending on the context. You can pair it with Company mode.

Good luck in your CL journey!

Sly and company work fine for me too :).

I throw paredit into the mix. It’s weird for two days but after that you’ll ask yourself how you could ever program Lisp without it.
Paredit is basically parenthesis-intellisense. It will insert matching parens and won’t let you delete one when the other one is still there, so you can backspace or C-k over whole lines without thinking and you will still have balanced parens.
Also it comes with tons of useful functions for operating on s-expressions. Like slurp (include the next thing into the current expression, aka move the closing paren one step forward), barf (throw the last thing out, aka pull the closing paren one backward), split, convolute (swap an inner expression with an outer one) and much more.
