This seems like a silly question, but I need to know the mode for LaTeX documents. I am trying to set it up with Schlau Compile so all I need to do to produce the PDF is to hit a single key.
Here is my configuration attempts:

Neither latex-mode nor tex-mode works. Any help or suggestions would be greately appeciated.

Mzy install does have both of those modes. Also TeX and LaTeX, which come from auctex.
Have you tried `C-h a latex` to see what modes you have?

have you tried `C-h v major-mode `

`LaTeX-mode`

That, or `C-h m` will tell you.

Just for curiosity, what is that "patentex"? (I only get search results for contraceptives.)

It's a function to run a script or set oommands to actually do the compile.

>patentex
Thanks. Is it yours? I can't find any information on it.

I simply have not gotten around to getting it into Melpa yet.

For those of you who are interested in schlau-compile:

It is not in Melpa yet. The maintainer of Melpa suggested that I do a merge request with the maintainer of smart-compile, but the alterations I have made are no longer compatable with smart-compile, both from a code and workflow standpoint.
I'll work on Melpa to let this in.

Thanks. I'll give it a look.
