I often use `rgrep` to find stuff in my project - typically stuff I want to rename project wide. Sometimes also just to figure out where stuff is being used.
In the first case, I find this a little awkward. I do an `rgrep`, hit enter on each entry, make a change, etc etc. This is very slow, and can result in buffers getting left open. What I'd love to do is have `rgrep` behave something like `occur` mode's (`M-s o`) `occur-edit-mode` (accessed from an `occur` buffer with `e`).
Is something like that available in grep results? How do _you_ use rgrep more effectively?

Does [wgrep](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/ce0557/emacs_editing_multiple_files_with_grep_wgrep/) offer what you are looking for?

When you go into dired mode on a directory, there are regex find and replace commands you can run on all the files or a subset of the files, I think. Dont remember exactly, but might be worth a look

Yes I believe it does! I was using doom with the older ido mode as that was what I had been using prior to moving to doom. It looks like the ivy module has a lot of nice things over ido - namely an integrated wgrep with the projectile search. It looks like this will do exactly what I need, thanks for the tip.

You can also try `C-x p g` for `project-find-regexp` followed by `r` in the resulting buffer to query-replace in matches.
