Just realised that command line substituitions work same as in vim in evil mode

Evil mode is insanely good. I didn't expect even command line functions to work as in vim. Also almost all the key chords in insert mode work as well. Most vim emulators as in VS code give control to the native application in insert mode losing much of vim functionality. But evil does not do this.

What key chords do you use most in insert mode?
LowCom · 2022-05-14 02:18
C-r: insert from a register C-w: delete word before C-u: delete upto last insertion point C-x C-n/p: complete line from next or previous lines C-j: enter a new line.

Haha, just like vim is a subset of emacs, vim bindings are a subset of evil bindings :) Here's another big one for you: `C-p`. Better than `company`, it just works, and it works *everywhere*!

I do use C-p. How is it better than company though?

Company's auto-insert can be a bit iffy, and it only works once. And it's context dependent, which is not always required (for me, anyway). `C-p` uses text from visible windows, and it can be invoked multiple times without needing to delete the completed text. That really makes it shine for me. It's dumb and I like it.
