Here's a quick blog post about a lightweight integration of Org and Jira that helps with pulling an issue's title and metadata from Jira's API into an Org heading, and with keeping it current in there over time.
This might be interesting for you if you work with Jira and like to keep notes on issues as you work on them.

Man I’ve just been copy pasting like a fool. This is pretty cool.

Thank you for writing this up. It’s always interesting to newcomers like myself how these things can be done.
In this case, however, wouldn’t it be better to actually put your thought and comments into JIRA, so that your co-workers have access to them? Doing this within Emacs doesn’t seem very team-oriented.

You make a great point, and I agree with you.
I ~~often~~ sometimes find myself posting a terse summary of the notes I keep in Org back to Jira for others to consume. There's heavy trimming involved in this -- if I'd post my extensive, journal-like notes verbatim, my co-workers would likely not read them at all.
If the notes you keep are terse and to the point, though, then syncing Org and Jira 1:1 can make a lot of sense. In that case, do check out the popular [Ejira](https://github.com/nyyManni/ejira) and [org-jira](https://github.com/ahungry/org-jira) packages, which help with just that!

Will do! Thank you for your thoughts.

Nice, looks nice and simple. Here is my old take on a similar setup. https://github.com/toshism/gojira
jiralib2 looks really handy. I should switch over to it, but maybe it's interesting to someone.

Thanks for the kind words; I'm glad you find it useful.

Oi, I missed that one when I was looking for existing packages. You beat me by 5 years it seems, lol. Thanks for sharing, I'll have a look!

haha, well it was mostly written just for my own use really, but maybe there is something interesting in there.
