Don't get me wrong. I'm happy you're enthusiastic about whatever it is you're trying to achieve, but I have no idea what any of that means.

I strongly sympathize with your desire to use your technological skill to serve in the quest for world peace. But unfortunately technology is not the solution, it is only one tiny tool among many that we can use.
It is also a bit disheartening to realize that much of modern computer technology was specifically developed for military purposes, originally for computing rocket trajectories and code breaking during World War II, and the development of computer technology in the US continued to serve in the interest of technological superiority over the USSR, and boosted the growth of the military industrial complex, throughout the Cold War period. And even in this day and age, companies are among the military industrial complex are the only companies capable of even producing computers.
And you don't have to create a wiki to start collecting this information either, you don't have to figure out everything for yourself. There are some 200 years of history and theory about ending war that you can read about at most any library. You just need to know where to look. The powers that be will [resort to violence](https://allthatsinteresting.com/kent-state-massacre ) to stop a world peace movement dead in it's tracks, start by asking why this might be. When I started with that line of inquiry, I began to understand what the root causes of war really are.

Even worse than that, violence seems to be an integral part of the human psyche. *Powers that be* mostly regulate and channel it (sometimes unsuccessfully). Remove their ability to do so, and what you'll end up with shall be a constant stream of small-scale warfare instead of occasional concerted large-scale efforts we have now.

The problem is with super-big governments wielding more power than they know what to do with. They now use the tech against us peons, to track us, to cap our free speech, to control us.
And they play their super-dangerous geopolitical games to boot.
Gotta love it.
I would be super-interested in your plans to use Org Mode to promote world peace.
NightStruck · 2022-05-06 09:34
that's a nice journal for tracking ideas and concepts, too bad the content is not really palatable for public consumption.
CloudsOfMagellan · 2022-05-06 09:43
What we have now is small scale regional wars
jsled · 2022-05-06 10:20
This has been removed, as posts must relate to emacs.
agrostis · 2022-05-06 12:13
I'm ready to agree on medium. When I say “small-scale”, I'm thinking of the level of gang wars.

The repo itself is supposed to be consumed within Emacs to take advantage of the org-mode agenda functionality to get things done. I made a repo describing all the tools needed to participate or make your own sub-objective project for researching Peace as a scientific endeavor. Too bad the moderators don't think org-mode is related to Emacs and deleted this post (best case scenario).

The repository is designed to be opened within Emacs to take advantage of the org major mode and the agenda functionality. I'm sorry I didn't make this clear in the original post. I made a companion repository of the open-source research tools to participate in the open-source scientific repository Peace project.

You're a user of emacs and org-mode for your project; that's great.
But using certain tools does not make it on topic for forums about those tools.
reconmaster · 2022-05-06 19:30
I see your point of view. I had thought a project designed for a particular tool would make it of interest to that tool's user base. Any Emacs user that would like to further discuss the Peaceful application of the reality bending nature of Emacs can find the Emacs Jedi here. Technology isn't inherently good or bad, it is the way it is applied by the user. May the Force be with you.
