Hiya, this is just a post announcing a packge I recently released to MELPA called \[flymake-collection\]([https://github.com/mohkale/flymake-collection](https://github.com/mohkale/flymake-collection)). It's essentially a collection of checkers for flymake bringing it a little closer to the outstanding out-of-the-box experience offered by flycheck. It was renamed from a package called flymake-rest which you might've heard of. Please check it out if you're interested and share any feedback :-).

Can you elaborate on what problem is it solving? I just use eglot and it flymake works fine out of the box.

So isn't it for managing a set of checkers all combined into one set of results? I would imagine that using LSP there is often no need, as a lot of servers manage multiple checkers themselves and the combined results arrive as a single source? I may be misunderstanding here, but hey, if I'm wrong I may generate a correction!

I think you should advertise more about the helpers for creating Flymake checkers, because that's what I used. It's not very highlighted in the README.

Flymake-collection is for when you don't have a language server or don't want to run one. Tonnes of languages have linters. Programs that read a file, produce a bunch of warning/error/info logs and then exits. A language server also does this (alongside providing completion, jump-to-definition etc.). What do you do when you want to lint a file but don't want to go to the effort of implementing an entire language server just for that? You use a litter. That's what flymake-collection gives you. To put it another way do you use flycheck? Have you ever just opened a file and gotten a bunch of helpful linting information (without having started a language server to provide it). This package makes flymake have the same experience.
