Precisely, when I run on GUI mode the META key is what is supposed to be i.e it sits right between the left ALT and Left CTRL key and behaves perfectly fine.
Now, when I run from TTY , that META key got changed to the ESCAPE key, which means instead of pressing the META key I have to press the ESCAPE key.
Wondering ......[https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/MetaKeyProblems](https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/MetaKeyProblems)
But.....
The question is :
Can I have keys behaves similarly in both environments??

Short answer: Most likely not. The way a tty is wired it has no way to distinguish between certain key combinations you take granted for a GUI.

Longer answer: This annoys people since ages and certain attempts have been made to alleviate this shortcoming, eg. You might be offended as this takes you to neovim related content)

Are you on a mac? I've used cmd-key-happy in the past to swap cmd and option in terminal [https://andrewmcdermott.blogspot.com/2009/11/cmd-key-happy-swap-cmdalt-keys-in.html](https://andrewmcdermott.blogspot.com/2009/11/cmd-key-happy-swap-cmdalt-keys-in.html)
