I actually did not know about emacs -q but what I could gather from [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/lt7a9r/difference_between_emacs_q_and_emacs_q/) is that it is running under some linux distro setup. If this is so, then no because I just downloaded it from the official GNU site and a mirror site. This one: https://mirror.squ.edu.om/gnu/emacs/windows/emacs-28/
I had previously installed Emacs 27 before 28 was released and it worked fine. But this version is showing this problem. I have reported it as a bug and mailed them.

No, -q disables your own configuration. It is used to check whether the problem is with your own configuration or with Emacs itself. They are asking you to pass the -q flag to Emacs.

Thanks, I passed emacs -q in the terminal. It shows the same problem as before.
Edit: Or do I have to pass it inside Emacs. I'm sorry for being such a noob.

Yes, emacs -q, is the command to ran :).
I think the recommended action would be to report this as a bug, or wait to see if some one more experienced would suggest better solution.
Instead another approach would be to use previous release, which is 27.2 (I believe) and should be more stable (I cannot guarantee but hopefully).

Yes thank you. I was thinking of the same. 27 should do until they come with a response of the bug report.

I am running Emacs 28.1 just fine in windows 10. Not the installer, but the zip. Reinstall?
Are you running `runemacs.exe`?
hermitsings · 2022-04-21 16:48
Hey. I tried that but no it's still showing the dialog above. I ran `runemacs` too. Same. However, 27 is working fine for me.
If yours is working fine, then maybe it's my system.
