I wonder why it didn't include Ruby in the language support This is awesome though

This is a good start, thanks. There used to a emacs-bootstrap like vim-bootstrap for a while. Not anymore.

This looks fantastic.

This is cool, I played with it when it was on HN. I've been using Emacs for 10 years and found a couple of new settings (`window-resize-pixelwise` and `frame-resize-pixelwise`).

Ruby is built in like python. It was asking about languages that need to installed.

Awesome! very helpful for novices like me
seshna · 2022-04-20 09:47
Built in? I didn't know that I do all my programming with Ruby in Emacs but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things
tmting · 2022-04-20 10:19
This is an incredible idea!
pailanderCO · 2022-04-20 11:36
Cool! Nice to see there the Vertico/Consult packages.
rotemy · 2022-04-20 11:43
This is awesome! I would recommend enabling more control over rust support, since it is much better to use configurations like rustic and Rust Analyzer
funk443 · 2022-04-20 11:49
This is amazing
patrick_thomson · 2022-04-20 12:31
Agreed; I think Vertico and Consult have the biggest wow factor of all the completion frameworks. Not because the UI is the fanciest (that goes to Helm), but because it’s blazing-fast, comprehensive, and its interface is consistent. This is a great resource for the community (I’d go so far as to suggest to the mods that it be placed in the sidebar).

Well, examining the code, it mainly deals with syntax highligting, indentation logic, imenu navigation, syntax navigation (function, units of text) using grammers, code navigation (finding libraries) and flymake intergration with rubocop. This is actually a lot to have out of the box, I bet people invested a lot of work into that.

Looks fantastic:) why only eglot and no lsp-mode support?
flamingos-cant-draw · 2022-04-20 19:08
This is cool. BTW, there's a typo in ‘Editor emulation,’ pasting should be C-v not C-z.
sebhoagie · 2022-04-21 02:38
Guessing that because it is one package (no UI or dap companions) and for the languages supported it requires zero configuration.
jmhimara · 2022-04-21 05:04
I have never been able to get eglot to work. I've tried it many times and there's always an error message I can't comprehend. LSP-mode is a bit more complicated, but seems to work most of the time. Maybe I'll have better luck with this configuration.
