Is it possible to make emacs showing the name of the active buffer here? I recall I've seen something like that somewhere, not sure, maybe my memory tricks me. I've tried to Google it, but found nothing.

It does it automatically when you have multiple frames. Beyond that, well, you should almost never need to Google for *anything* with Emacs, since the built-in documentation is so good. For details about frame titles, click on Help->More Manuals->Emacs Lisp Reference, then check the index (press `i`) to look for "frame title".

Almost! That solution shows not the file name, but the entire path of the file. However, the link you posted helped me figured out how to google the solution, finally. I found what I needed. Thank you.
This works for me as I wanted, showing only the file name:
(setq frame-title-format "%b")

off-topic, are you running Emacs on MSYS32?

In Emacs jargon, that's the file name: the *absolute* file name. Emacs uses *"path"* to mean a list of such names, as in the `PATH` environment variable.
See the Emacs manual, node [Glossary](https://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/html_node/emacs/Glossary.html). Search there for *"path"*. Under *"File Name"* you'll see, for example:
> Some people use the term “pathname” for file names, but we do not; we use the word “path” only in the term “search path” (q.v.).

The easiest way is to just name all your buffers 'emacs@LAPTOP'

I guess it’s just easier to Google than going through all these steps, user experience wise.

How did you install this Emacs? Because it looks like msys32
xtifr · 2022-04-18 18:50
Three clicks is "all these steps"?
4goodapp · 2022-04-18 20:40
you have to be very specific to find results, sometimes, you just want to do "that thing", google can help you find it easily. So in the end, one may just google it save a click or two.

Could be elscreen-fr mode? Search in melpa.org, also persp-fr mode can help you.

I installed it by using exe for Windows from the emacs website. The theme I use is called "Cyberpunk". And I hid away all the menu icons etc.
