Starting up TOP on the Javascript path. They recommend vscode but i used to mess with coding and linux and even went to school for programming for a few years (like 18 years ago now) and i want to use Emacs as my ide. I'm not afraid to learn emacs and build it out along side my web dev learnings I just wanted to check if i'll run into limitations with this type of configuration.

You'll find many developers browsing this subreddit who use Emacs for Web projects daily :-)
EXWM will do just fine as well, just know that Web development typically involves fiddling in the browser debugger and inspector a lot so there will be a lot of mouse usage, nand a tiling WM can have its merits for the debugger tools
I'd suggest you start with the built-in major modes for the various languages you'll encounter and build on top of that when you lack X or Y

Thanks! Will do.

I used Doom Emacs for the Odin Project. Let me know if you have any questions!
I use Firefox. I'm concerned with add-ons and just having a basic setup. It should look similar to what your users deal with. I would suggest going through the course and only making config changes as-needed, otherwise you'll lose momentum in your forward progress.
Editor: I also use i3wm on Manjaro

Thanks! Will do. I think i'm going to skip EXWM for the time being. I'm building a custom config from vanilla using System Crafters series which has been fantastic for learning.

Feel free to message me! Not many Odin Project emacs users lol

Yeah I'm a bit old school (38) and initially went to school for programming, 2 years back in 2001 ish right when Java was replacing C++ in the curriculum. I setup and run slackware back in 2001 when it way more tedious than installing ubuntu is nowadays.
While I eventually went back to windows because of gaming, I had found emacs in that window and the navigation system using ctrl stuck with me so hard I wrote navigation keys in autohotkey for windows to cover the basics (i.e. forward, back, prev, next, pgup, pgdn, end of line front of line etc.
So no way I was gonna use vscode over emacs. And since I've been using emacs ctrl based navigation since then i'm not even gonna go down the evil-mode path personally. I've heard of emacs pinky but don't understand it as I've always palmed the ctrl key with the heel of my hand.
Anywho I'll shoot you a msg!
