I don't know enough about undo-tree to give specifics, however...
- `undo-fu-session` is quite fast (although I didn't benchmark/compare them), [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/txwwfi/comment/i41ymht/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) suggests undo-tree's can be slow.
- Optionally only storing 'linear' undo history (typically cuts down the size of undo-data on disk). This is a trade-off, personally never missed not being able to traverse into unused branches of previous sessions.
- It doesn't require using undo-tree (swapping out the undo system), which some users report still [running into bugs](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/txwwfi/comment/i3zgd99/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) even after more recent fixes.

`ZSTD` and `BZip2` compressed sizes are equal to `No Compression` for me! Others work fine.

For me one main reason: undo tree save history is annoying in the mini buffer all the times.
