I use the repo [https://bitbucket.org/mituharu/emacs-mac/](https://bitbucket.org/mituharu/emacs-mac/) to build Emacs 28.1
I executed `sudo make install` but it returns the following error
Symbol's function definition is void: eieio-defclass-autoload
make[1]: *** [bootstrap-emacs.pdmp] Error 255
make: *** [src] Error 2
I tried clearing all \*.elc files in the repo directory, but the problem still exists
`find . -iname "*.elc" -type f | xargs sudo rm`
How should I resolve it?

I think you should probably report this to the packager. It looks like feature `eieio-core` is not loaded.

i got the same error yesterday. in my case, needed to `make distclean` and rerun `./configure`. also, you shouldn’t compile as root; do `make && sudo make install`

I had to run `rm lisp/loaddefs.el` to get rid of some error like that. I didn't know about distclean vs clean; thanks /u/anydalch!

Had something like that (on linux). Went away after a `make bootstrap`.
