org-journal problem

I've recently installed org-journal. It seems to be correctly set up with postings for various times and days appearing when I activate the program. But when viewing the directory for posts outside of emacs it appears empty. What am I doing wrong?

What is the default name for your entries? Does it start with a leading dot? This would make them hidden. If you type 'ls -a' on the command line in this directory what does it list?

Thanks for the response. After quite a few days of head scratching and thinking that I had a terrible system level problem affecting ACLs and Groups, I eventually realised that the problem was in my .emacs.d/init.el file with file paths at times using different conventions.
