Pinephone + keyboard case + mobian + emacs: pocket/purse sized emacs cyberdeck

The main show stopper for me is battery life. I don't use my phone much, but I would do more on it with emacs, thus increasing screen time and overall consumption. Camera quality is another story, but the main thing is power consumption

Have a portable Emacs as well, with Gemini PDA and Gemian . Works fine.

Did you do any special setup? The first thing I did when I got my keyboard is install emacs. Mobian with the default posh and an external keyboard I found to be 100% horrible. Entering any text box pops up the virtual keyboard, the horizontal screen orientation seems to mess up most apps, etc. I decided that I would need to build my own image with X and emacs. Then I would just use the same config as on my laptop since I already use exwm anyway. I just don't have the time at the moment. If things have gotten better and I don't have to mess around so much I'd love to know.

I do have a similar setup and find it great ! The only issue I have is that the power button is a bit sensible, so putting the phone in my bag often tends to power it on, thus leaving it drained. An amazing little PDA otherwise :)

I'd give you a second up vote if I could for Guile Scheme. I've been learning it myself lately, and it is easily the *most* underrated programming language currently in existence.

I found that turning off rotation, going into settings->display and setting zoom from 200%->100%, also settings->accessibility and turning on large fonts and off the onscreen keyboard made it good enough to use

I’m running it on an old ma MacBook, which isn’t the best march, occasionally running into cases where I find software is unavailable but for the most part I think the pros outweigh the (cons)

I use a phone w/ keyboard for org mode in Emacs on the move (diary, tasks, notes).

Is your keyboard case working after the latest mobian updates? mine just stopped after updating and rebooting this morning.
