How do you use org-publish effectively?

I'd like to export some documentation I wrote to markdown so it can be committed to GitHub wiki. The major problem I had so far is that I wasn't being careful with my image attachments. Some are produced inline with the org files via PlantUML and some are screenshots that seem to live in `images/whatever`. `org-publish-attachments` wants to grab all of my images in `images`; some of the references between documents don't work. Is org-publish the right tool for this or is there a better option?

You might need to just tweak some of the (many) options to org-publish. And/or slightly modify your original, or your process, to get it to work exactly how you like. > Is org-publish the right tool for this or is there a better option? I suppose that depends whether you value freedom and customizeability over your time (at least initially).
