Whose user init have you found helpful?
[deleted] · 2022-03-29 12:50
Emacs Wiki has a useful page providing examples of Emacs configuration files:
I wondered which configs other users have found especially useful and/or different in their approach?

Great suggestions thus far. Thank you. Those I have found helpful and Prot, Sacha Chua and John Wiegley. I am keen to explore different types and approaches.

Please, publish the videos again! I liked them so much, especially the one about ed. Other day I mentioned it to a friend but couldn't find it.

Not the Emacs init file specifically so much, but I've copied and referenced a bunch of my org-roam configuration from ["Niel's Digital Garden"](https://commonplace.doubleloop.net/my-spacemacs-user-config/).

Mine. It gets loaded everytime I start emacs. I find that super helpful.

I recommend the configuration of Protesilaos: https://protesilaos.com/emacs/dotemacs
It offers many inspirations to me.
[deleted] · 2022-03-30 09:27
Yes, it is a fine config!

Everyone's and none's. I have always had my own init file, but when I don't know how to get something the way I want it, I do a search and often times, a web search points me to some init file somewhere. Usually I don't even look at entire files or who it is, just see if I can get help with stuff I need.

Your mom’s init was pretty helpful.

I believe you're referring to my dad. And I'm glad he could help you
resolve your sexuality.

http://doc.norang.ca/org-mode.html - Probably helped me the most when starting out (along with Sacha Chua who have already been mentioned).
https://github.com/kaushalmodi/.emacs.d - Good stuff in here (need to explore more).
Collections I have only explored briefly:
https://www.dotemacs.de/index.html
https://github.com/grettke/every-emacs-initialization-file
These are sort of over the top, but I find them fascinating:
https://doc.rix.si/cce/cce.html
https://github.com/grettke/help/blob/master/help.txt

My pleasure. Just note that those are the raw versions, without little edits. I hope you find them useful.
