Getting `rlwrap` to work in `vterm`?

I am using `vterm` as a terminal emulator in emacs. While running sml/nj repl in vterm `rlwrap` doesn't seem to work. (It works in other terminal emulators that I have: yakuake, kitty). Any suggestions?

i also experience the same problem. in particular, i'm trying to use `rlwrap idris2` inside emacs-vterm without success. @omeow, did you report a bug to emacs-vterm or find a workaround?

No, I decided to use another terminal (kitty) where it works fine.
