Why is this wrong: `(setq org-id-method "uuid")`?

I think its default value is correct, but I wanted to set it explicitly. So I did this in init.el (setq org-id-method "uuid") Evidently that's not right. It doesn't work and the C-h v for the variable says something like Was 'uuid' now is "uuid" Can someone explain the difference between a single quoted vaule and a double quoted value, and how to explicitly set the former in elisp? Thanks!

The first is a symbol and the second a string. To set the symbol do: (setq org-id-method 'uuid) Here the `'` is syntactic sugar (reader macro) for the `quote` function.

That makes sense, thanks!
