A way to make flyspell's red squiggles transient?

Is there a way to make flyspell's red squiggle transient? Like stay on the screen 5 seconds then go away. I use too much slang and abbreviations I don't want to include in the dictionary and the lingering squiggle annoys and distracts. Can't find a customization for this; am I missing it? Anyone have a code snippet I can use? Thanks!

Why would you not want to add those words? They're obviously part of your grammar so they shouldn't trigger any feedback right

In casual writing I use slang, abbrevs, and general sillyness that I'd never use in a business convo (<-see there's one). I don't want such things in the dictionary but don't want to turn off spell checking completely.

I see, then I would look into creating a new dictionary where you allow those slang words, and change dictionary when relevant.

You underestimate my laziness. Why do something that requires only a few seconds of my time when I could spend an hour or two hacking emacs to do what I want? ;-)
