I've been using Emacs in terminal mode when doing some pair-programming over screen sharing, just because the GUI doesn't appear to have an option to uniformly scale the interface. Am I right in believing this? Edit for clarity: Global uniform interface scaling would include every element of the window south of the menu bar.

What do you mean uniformly scale? scale of icons in menu bar, or global font settings or which? or by global do you mean across OSes?

You can change the size of the text globally with:
(set-face-attribute 'default nil :height SIZE)
where SIZE is the point size * 10. For example for 12pt text, you would put 120.
M-x menu-set-font also lets you change it interactively. Otherwise, there isn’t a built in way to scale the global text size up and down with a keypress like you can with a single buffer. (at least, not that I’m aware of)

Just assign `text-scale-increase` and `text-scale-decrease` functions on some keybindings. I use `evil` via `use-package`, so my config looks like this
:map evil-normal-state-map
("g[" . text-scale-decrease)
("g]" . text-scale-increase)

These don't work globally.

This is a part of my use-package recipe for evil. Just an example

Typographically correct quotes are cute, but wrong in code.
