Difference between this and vc-annotate +posframe?
jigarthanda-paal · 2022-02-19 17:30
Looks v cool though!

Maybe there's not much difference between them ;) Truly speak, I haven't seen the vc-annotate + posframe implementation. I've seen the git-messenger + posframe, and it looks really good. In this case I tried to solve my own problem, the basic idea is to show lines in real time with an extra right overlay, but sometimes I need to check details, like a full commit description or hash, and I found that such a popup is really useful for me. Moreover, you can use such a "popup" inside your terminal, I think (but I haven't checked). And also i was inspired by neovim setups with bordered completions/popups

Oh yeah this looks much prettier. I'll try to find a screenshot of the posframe version. One nice to have which posframe/vc-annotate offers is: "press c to copy hash", "q to quit" etc.

Nice work! I'd been wanting something like this for a while :)

Thank you! Your package now in my mandatory emacs packages list.

Have you considered/tried doing something with [svg-lib](https://github.com/rougier/svg-lib)?
darkawower · 2022-02-20 13:58
It looks very interesting, I tried such icons in nano emacs and org mode, but I thought it was only for inline svg, and it is impossible to make such a view with few lines. Maybe I'll check later, the svg inside emacs looks very promising

What theme is that? Looking nice and it's very readable!
darkawower · 2022-02-20 18:45
Both themes are custom, but the dark theme is very similar to the doom-moonlight theme (I ported it from vscode tokio one night). I haven't published these themes, but you can clone them from my [dotfiles](https://github.com/Artawower/.doom/tree/main/themes) (tokio-night and pinky-winky) I only tested them for doom, but they should probably work with pure emacs)
