Howm - note taking with TODO/agenda

Homepage: [http://howm.osdn.jp/](http://howm.osdn.jp/) Alternative tutorial: [https://web.archive.org/web/20060409123241/http://dto.twu.net/HowmTutorial.howm.html](https://web.archive.org/web/20060409123241/http://dto.twu.net/HowmTutorial.howm.html) EmacsWiki: [https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/HowmMode](https://www.emacswiki.org/emacs/HowmMode) I was looking for alternatives to org-mode, not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I use it only for note taking and *sometimes* TODO and was wondering what else is there. Another thing with org is that sometimes the ecosystem, for someone not doing GTD or writing a paper etc. can feel a bit overwhelming. I didn't find a lot of info about howm, except a couple posts here, including a 15 year old link that is dead (thank heavens to the Wayback Machine). But I can infer there are some active users between this subreddit and the Emacs Wiki. I like the way it links info with >>> and the schedules with special sorting for TODO vs deadline vs reminder seems interesting.

I would give it some more time to see how this evolves , I like the tutorial though. For serious org users it would be tough bet to try this IMHO.
