alpha-background and EXWM

So alpha-background frame parameter was recently added to master in emacs 29 (GTK + cairo), but it does not seem to work for me in EXWM, only cursor and modeline get transparent. It works in KDE plasma (kwin as compositor). I tried two compositors: xcompmgr and picom but nothing. Normal alpha parameter works fine. Anyone was able to make it work for EXWM?

I'm on an older version but I just use picom and `(set-frame-parameter nil 'alpha (cons 80 80))`, where you want an opacity of 80. Works on everything except X buffers.

alpha makes the text also transparent, new alpha-background only the background, is partial transparency
