Greetings,
I'd like to enter the Emacs (and Org-mode) world.
I own a Mac and I'm confused.
I see I can download Emacs by using Home-brew, but also from this link: [https://emacsformacosx.com](https://emacsformacosx.com)
Are they the same version?
Please consider I'd like to install Org-mode too.
Thank you!

The information from `brew info` includes where a package came from. Looking at the basic emacs cask, we get
; brew info homebrew/cask/emacs
emacs: 27.2-3
https://emacsformacosx.com/
Not installed
From: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-cask/blob/HEAD/Casks/emacs.rb
So, yes, if you just do `brew install emacs` you'll get the emacsformacosx version.
I'm using a different port, the [emacs-mac](https://bitbucket.org/mituharu/emacs-mac/src/master/) port (installed with homebrew via [https://github.com/railwaycat/homebrew-emacsmacport](https://github.com/railwaycat/homebrew-emacsmacport) ). That port includes a few more mac-specific features (better ligature support, and tying in to OS events such as theme changes are my favourites). There's one or two others that are also popular.
org-mode will work just fine in all of them, so there's no harm in moving between them to see what the differences are and what you like.

Downloaded and installed.
Thank you very much!
BTW: damn it, Emacs has a very steep learning curve! :-D
