No EXWM systray with Emacs v29.0.50

Danrobi1 · 2022-02-05 11:34
Hello. Just compiled Emacs v29.0.50. The EXWM systray is not working here. Is any EXWM user have found/write a fix for that issue? Or is it only on my end?

I’ve never been able to get it working on any version. I implemented polybar with EXWM workspaces support instead and even that I hardly use. Chances are there’s an Emacs way to do whatever you’re looking for without a tray.

Same result here -- it has never worked for me on any version.

This has been reported to the mailing list and there's a workaround: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2022-02/msg00104.html

Already replied on Github. Gona say it here too for Reddit's users. It works but the tray is now top left corner :/ [Sceenshot](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/48020114/152661021-bd6d8a77-433d-48a0-abee-ca400708c206.png)

Hi. That's what I have in my init file for EXWM. When Emacs launch I run `M-x exwm-init`. Tray always worked for me. Works now with v29 (Thanks to u/stebalien1) but the tray is top left corner. (defun efs/exwm-update-class () (exwm-workspace-rename-buffer exwm-class-name)) ;; required by exwm add-hook update-class (use-package exwm ;; require xelb :ensure t :init (setq exwm-init 't) ;; start exwm init :config (add-hook 'exwm-update-class-hook #'efs/exwm-update-class) ;; auto rename buffer with app name (require 'exwm-systemtray) (setq exwm-systemtray-height '18) (exwm-systemtray-enable))
