Every time I type in Emacs, I get a prompt window indicating possible word candidates, as follows:

I want to get rid of the prompt, but I don't know where it comes from. And it's also hard to figure it out. Every time I restart Emacs and start typing, I don't see it. It only shows itself after I use Emacs for a while.
Does anyone know how to get rid of it? By the way, I'm using macOS. I suspect it has something to do with macOS because I didn't see it when I used Linux before.

Company? You should be able to set the delay to nil to prevent the pop ups
(setq company-idle-delay nil)

Try : (flyspell-mode 0)

Thanks, it works, but it may be too much, I cannot use `company` anywhere now, including in python files, where `company` should give me some useful suggestions.

Thanks, but it doesn't work. And I've checked it, `flyspell` wasn't enabled before.

according to [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/p2iwbv/turn_off_companyispell/) thread:
> It's caused by how Doom sets up the buffer-local values of company-backends in different major modes.

Either:
- disable company in org-mode or set that setting only in org-mode
- remove the company backend that produces these suggestions, or remove it only in org-mode
- trigger company completion manually in Python (more useful than it sounds tbh, but may not be everyone's cup of tea)

Thanks, that's super helpful!

Unrelated but, I’m really tried once to use Operator Mono on EMacs but failed. Could you help me here:
1. What did you do do to achieve line spacing?
2. How did you configured the font so that bold doesn’t gets rendered by default? Operator provides a Book weight and a Bold, but when I add it to Emacs, it always renders the bold font for me.

It's because `company-backends` contains `company-ispell` which is the backend to grab some words from a plain text dictionary.
The backend actually has nothing to do with `ispell` or spelling or `flyspell`. Maybe they should rename the backend? Current name is really confusing.
The solution to your problem is simply one line, `(setq company-ispell-available nil)`.
Or you can check YOUR setup to locate the code adding `company-ispell` to `company-backends` and comment that code out.
BTW, `company-mode` is really powerful but most tutorials only teach the basics of `company-mode`. The reason could be the official documentation are far behind the implementation. I heard its documentation are being updated recently, maybe you should check out the website of `company-mode`.
