Does anybody know a better way of understanding and or controlling dreams? Like is there any books?
And pardon me im new here...
In general in my dreams it's pretty hard to see but they are sometimes very long.

>understanding or controlling dreams
Dream analysis and lucid dreaming are sort of mutually exclusive.
As far as dream analysis, Man and His Symbols (Jung, 1964) would be a good start. Specifically, the introductory chapter by Jung himself, intended to give a lay audience an overview of his work.

Dream analysis is generally regarded as bullsoykaf by the modern scientific community. Lucid dreaming is real and fun though. Start by making a dream journal, record your dream as soon as you wake up. Within a few weeks you'll become much better at remembering your dreams. Then use a search engine of your choice to find out more information. In fact that should have been your first step.

Currently reading it, it's a really good intro book if you want to learn more about psychology and dreams. Are the other chapters not written by jung worth as well?

Don't ever know what you mean by understanding, the first essential thing for lucid dreaming, and for seeing dreams at all is keeping a dream journal. It helps to see more dreams, better memorize, and almost at all.

Whenever I don't masturbate and smoke cigarettes, my dreams become realistic and easier to control, I don't know why.

The scientific community consists of mostly two types: people who silently but diligently work away on their research and chasing after corporation funded grants and obnoxious soy boys with a god complex ruining it for everyone else.
Anyway, what's your thoughts on Jung?
