Derealisation and the feeling that you're watching a movie

Anyone else have these feelings like you're not really conscious, but more watching the world through your own eyes? I get it maybe 3-5 times a week and I can never seem to snap out of it, it just comes and goes. Lains what's your experience or takes on this? (Pic unrelated)

>>8782 Yes, it's called de-realization. I sometimes get this feeling when thinking about "what the fuarrrk am I doing, what is even this", or just thinking about the origin of everything and why I exist I also get it when drunk on alcohol... Dissociative drugs take the effect to another level, Ketamine user will tell you about it.

When I was a kid, I thought it was strange to be inside myself. I thought that, just like in a TV show, I could step outside myself and see what my parents, for example, were doing like a scene change, but I didn’t understand that I was inside myself. In a way, even today I find it hard to understand certain things. I have a very strong awareness of my “self,” and that makes living in society very difficult. That’s why I developed social anxiety and an aversion to being around other people, because I start to see myself from outside my body, trying to imagine how people see me, and that’s very draining.

>>8782 It's within everyone to be great, you can indeed master any skill, but you need to accept reality to some degree. Look at what is around you. It starts in your dark room. Let the light in. You cannot think if you do not have the mechanism. Eat some meat, chicken is good, beef is good, pork is good. Eat some vegetables for vitamins. Eat that meal 3 times a day and have some water. :) I don't mean to tell you what to do, but these steps do work in improving quality of life and I know because they worked for me.

yes, i feel it with quite often. when i am at places with a lot of noise and people i do not know and am not interested about, i feel that everything around me isn't real. i end up staring at random people or at random objects, trying to convince myself that they are really in the front of me, that they are real. i move my hands, i face myself on the mirror, smiling or frowning, to convince myself that what i see is me. when i am on this state, i feel more like a floating soul and less like a human. it is making me have less and less awareness of myself, i am a amalgamation of ideas, experiences and knowledge, not blood and flesh. really weird feeling.

>>8782 Yes, I feel it all the time, because that's exactly what is happening, lain

>>8782 It didn't really ever happen to me until I had a very bad trip while on shrooms around a year and a half ago After the trip was over, I started to get recurring nightmares where my hands would rot, and, what's relevant on this specific discussion; Where I would get really detached from reality for a couple of seconds at least once or twice per day, which was always really scary It's difficult to say how it is that I felt with exact certainty, just because of how abstract the whole experience is as a whole, but I think I can give a practical example that you lainanons can follow at home that will probably put you into the same headspace I used to be in: 1. Go to a dimly lit room with a mirror on it 2. Stand around 2 meters away from the mirror 3. Look at your face and don't blink or move Your brain cannot identify your own face that well in the dark and so, it'll start shifting it into (for some reason) grotesque looking things I can't really even describe If the practical example works, maybe you'll start to get really nervous, and whats more, maybe youll start to feel like you might not come back to the reality you know if you keep on staring If any lainanon actually ends up trying it, please let me know how you felt

>>8782 this happens whenever i go outside, so i make sure not to do that
