not sure if this is the right board, but i've been suffering from worsening brain fog for 3 years now and i feel like i've tried everything. supplements, exercise, meditation, art, therapy, meds, no meds, locking in, locking out; nothing really works. i'm young, i have friends, my life has direction, and yet i am depressed, anxious, autistic, irritable, addicted, never feel present, etc. my hygeine is getting worse and i'm getting stupider every day. i deleted instagram a long time ago and now i spend all my time on youtube, watching porn, lurking forums, etc. and i don't know how to stop. i don't even feel real feelings like sadness i just feel gross, tired, and empty. any advice helps and sorry again if it seems like im blogposting or if this is irrelevant.

sounds like you're in a rut and are terminally online. news are designed to give you fog. even the "independent" creators. everything is fighting for your attention at all times. I've watched people whom I thought of to be pretty cool and chill to turn into complete unhinged lunatics over the past 15 years.
despite of its great potential and use, the wired is after all full of cancer and aids and seeping in it long enough some of it will rub off on you
but if you insist on watching youtube, these seem like good pointers:

hell, even Sam Hyde has the occasional drops of wisdom to get your head out of your ass as long as you stop watching some glitterboy go on about [CURRENT THING] being the worst thing ever ever and it's the end of the world for cereal! this is how these sillybillies keep you in a loop

this might sound crackpot, but it's not: eat a lot of eggs and/or liver. they're loaded with choline, which is essential for brain function and for muscle function.

just unplug. literally
whenever I wanna focus I put my phone really far and plug out the ethernet cable off my computer. if im on my laptop I just switch off all wireless comms, helps that I have a key shortcut for that
unplugged life = happy life. nabokov was onto something when he wiped all traces of electricity off the face of the earth in one of his novels
though computers are nice and free books are nice. so just unplug when you have to and try to lead a life thats not so lonely in spite of that. you're warring a war against a machine that wants to demap your brain and offers you a lot of surrogates for important parts of the human experience, tricking your body into feeling at peace despite the emptiness remaining there. like a mcdonalds meal for loneliness instead of hunger
